Man comes off second best after breaking into ex-girlfriend's home

A 26-year-old Aurora man has been charged with home invasion after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend's home in North Aurora and fought with her, police said. In addition to the home invasion charge, Gregory Williamson was charged with two counts of domestic battery and a count of phone harassment.

The incident happened at 6:51 a.m. in the 300 block of Butterfield Road in North Aurora, at Williamson's ex-girlfriend's house, according to a police statement. Police were called to the home and when they arrived, they saw Williamson leaving. He was arrested.

About an hour before, Williamson had called his ex-girlfriend and threatened to harm her, police said. "When he arrived, he forcibly entered the residence and battered the victim," according to the statement.

Police said his ex-girlfriend suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention. Williamson, of the 900 block of Jackson Street in Aurora, also suffered minor injuries, police said.
