Danish festival to hold 'Piss-Off' seminar

While urine may be easily disposed of on an individual basis, collectively it is a big headache for organisers of outdoor summer music festivals and other major events.

So now they're trying to do something about it. The organisers of Denmark's largest festival, the Roskilde Festival, which attracts 75,000 people, have arranged a seminar addressing how to encourage guests to use toilets.

Titled "Backstage: Piss-Off", the seminar starts on March 3 in Copenhagen’s Meatpacking District. The organisers are confident that the seminar will come up with some good ideas; however, one solution has already been proposed for this year's Roskilde Festival.

“We're preparing female urinals and other alternative solutions for women,” project coordinator Signe Brink said. “We're also looking at ways of encouraging people not to urinate on the fences.”
