Mummified body of fifty foot actress found in home

The mummified corpse of the actress who starred in The Attack Of The 50ft Woman has been found in her Beverly Hills home. It's thought former Playboy Playmate Yvette Vickers was dead for up to a year. She was 82.

A neighbour who pushed through a mountain of letters and unopened fan mail found her body lying beside a heater that was still running. Neighbour Susan Savage said: "We've all been crying about this. Nobody should be left alone like that. She kept to herself, had friends and seemed very independent."

The actress was born Yvette Vedder in Kansas City, Missouri. Her parents were jazz musicians Charles and Iola Vedder. She is best remembered as voluptuous Honey Parker in Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman in 1958.

The following year she was named Playboy's Miss July 1959. Her photos were shot by cult movie mogul Russ Meyer. Her screen career never again reached those heights. She had some success as a stage actress and released a jazz album but in the 1970s she began working as an estate agent to supplement her income.
