Although he made off with the equipment the pictures were being sent back to a security control room.
The man, who has no front teeth, climbed a wall at Trafford retail park in Manchester and spent around a minute removing the £1,000 camera.
In the footage, he can then be seen being helped down by an accomplice who was waiting with a supermarket trolley to transport their haul.
Despite the clear images neither man involved in the late night raid has been traced - and it is now just over a year since the camera was stolen.
The owners have now released the footage in the hope someone might recognise either of the men involved. A spokesman for Peel said: "The police have so far had no luck in tracing him. Someone must know this man, he's quite distinctive."
