Man ran off with disabled mother's dentures after assaulting her

A Houston man accused of assaulting his disabled mother and running off with her dentures is behind bars. Christopher Harding, 23, is charged with injury to a disabled person. According to court documents, the incident occurred on February 10 at his mother’s home in the 4300 block of Heritage trail.

Harding’s mother, Mettie Cartwright, is legally disabled. She told police her son grabbed her throat, pushed her to the ground, punched her in the face and applied painful pressure to her neck with his hand.

While he had her pinned down, Cartwright said Harding used his free hand to yank her dentures from her mouth. She said he fled the scene with her teeth.

Police said a witness confirmed Cartwright’s story. Harding was arrested and is being in the Harris County Jail without bond
