Man with something on head charged with fondling himself outside school

A 55-year-old man faces aggravated indecent exposure charges after he allegedly fondled himself outside a church and elementary school late last week. Police said Patrick Bencher would loiter outside the Sacred Heart Church and School, 22430 Michigan Ave., after church and when children went outside for recess.

After first being alerted Tuesday, and after conducting several days of surveillance, the Dearborn Police Surveillance Unit saw him sitting in his vehicle, allegedly fondling himself as children played in the area, police said.



Bencher, of Dearborn Heights, was arrested and charged on Friday. Aggravated indecent exposure is a two-year misdemeanor.

Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety with no contact with minors, churches, schools, public parks, or recreational facilities.
