Man breaks into adjacent homes, showers and leaves

A Chatham man allegedly took a shower in two Main Street homes this week without telling the owners.

Joshua Wordell, 34, broke into both homes, used the showers and stole nothing but a green towel and Snapple drink. The police received a report of a recent breaking and entering incident on Wednesday, headed to the home and reportedly found Wordell at the property.

He was walking outside "soaking wet, wearing a coat, pants and flip flops." Wordell told the police he was staying with friends nearby and was on a walk. He also had a green towel and a bottle of Snapple.

The police determined Wordell had broken into two houses next to each other, used the showers, and took the towel and drink from one of the homes. He was charged with two counts of misdemeanor breaking and entering, two counts of felony destruction of property, and one count of felony larceny from a building.
