Bar fight leads to happy man's arrest

Prosecutors have charged a Pulaski County man with misdemeanor assault following a fight inside a bar.

Sheriff's deputies responded on Saturday night to a call about a fight. When they arrived at the tavern on Highway 17, they found a man holding a towel to his head.

"The deputy asked the male subject to step outside with him so they could talk," the sheriff said in a news release. "The male subject refused the request. At that point the female bartender approached the deputy and stated she wanted to file charges on the male subject," the sheriff continued.

"The bartender related that the male had entered the bar and began yelling at people and had struck one other patron with his closed fist. A small fight then began and the fight ended when the bartender struck the male subject with a baseball bat." Delbert Franklin Click, 40, was taken to a hospital for treatment. He was then charged with assault.
